Every winter, I spend several months in Fuerteventura. It has become my base for recharging my creative battery and focusing on the projects that matter most to me. The slower pace, warm climate, and open landscapes make it the ideal environment to think clearly and work consistently.

Over the years, the majority of my art has been developed here. Many of the illustrations for my Menstrual Cycle journal were drawn during these months. The island’s calm surroundings and uninterrupted time allowed me to plan the layouts, refine the bullet journal pages, and create the visual flow that makes the journal a functional and personal tool.

The period tracker section of the Menstrual Cycle journal also took shape here. Working in Fuerteventura gave me the space to design a system that is easy to use while visually appealing. The result is a tracker that not only records information but also encourages reflection on patterns and emotions throughout the cycle.

This is also where much of my product photography is done. The island’s natural light works particularly well for showing texture and colour accurately. Many images of our graphic tee collection and designer t-shirt releases were shot here, including the “There Are No Problems, Only Chances” design. The neutral tones of the beaches and the consistent sunlight highlight the colours and prints without distraction.

Fuerteventura has also been the setting for developing and photographing our poster prints. These prints, often based on my hand-drawn illustrations, are created with the same care as the journals and apparel. The wide horizons and open air help me keep the compositions clean and balanced, while also influencing the messages I choose to work with.

By the end of each winter season, I leave the island with new designs completed, product photography ready for use, and ideas for the months ahead. The Menstrual Cycle journal, bullet journal layouts, period tracker, graphic tee range, designer t-shirt line, and poster prints all benefit from the focus and clarity this location provides.

Fuerteventura has become more than a place to visit — it is the core of my yearly creative process. The work done here shapes the products I share with others, making this island a constant presence in everything I create.
